New Clerk Fees Go into Effect in Walker County

From Carter Brown, Clerk of Superior Court in Walker County:

HB1055, the Omnibus Fee bill, was signed by the Governor on May 12, 2010, and became effective upon his signature. In the courts that I serve, Superior and State Court, certain fees have risen substantially. The costs for filing a civil action in superior court and state court increased $125.00. The entire additional amount generated from Superior court filings will be sent to the State of Georgia for funding judicial operations and, from state court filings, the state will receive $75.00 and $50.00 will be disbursed to the county.

I have forwarded the new fee schedule to Keith, and he will be posting that soon. We will have the new fees posted in our office, and you should all be receiving an email with the new schedule attached during the first part of the week of May 17th. .

Effective Monday, May 17, 2010, the Walker County Clerks Office will implement the new fee schedule.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
